Portrait of Charlie Taylor by JOHN GUERRERO STUDIO

Charlie Taylor is a New York–based visual artist working across hair, photography, and creative direction. From her atelier in West Chelsea, she creates images, environments, and experiences that explore beauty, character, and everyday elegance.

Originally trained at Vidal Sassoon, Taylor has spent more than two decades working with actors, artists, and creative people across fashion, film, and culture. Her practice moves fluidly between portraiture, image-making, and transformation, with a particular interest in the relationship between personal style and identity.

Alongside her client work, Taylor is the founder of Cool French Girl, an ongoing creative project dedicated to fashion, beauty, vintage objects, books, and the art of living well. Through photography, writing, collecting, and curation, the project celebrates a thoughtful and deeply personal approach to style.

Her work is guided by the belief that beauty is not about perfection, but about creating spaces, images, and moments that feel authentic, memorable, and alive.

She lives in Manhattan with her three American Bullies—Henry, George, and Minty.
